Nul besoin de vous rappeler le synopsis d'origine, qui nous raconte l'histoire d'une énième apocalypse depuis le point de vue d'un duo d'aventuriers, constitué de Joël, un père ayant perdu sa fille au début de la catastrophe, et Ellie, une jeune fille n'ayant connu que ces terres dévastées. "Avec eux à la barre aux côtés de l'incomparable Carolyn Strauss, cette série va certainement trouver un écho auprès des fans inconditionnels des jeux The Last of Us mais aussi des nouveaux venus dans cette saga qui a marqué le genre", a commenté Francesca Orsi, vice-présidente exécutive de HBO Programming. Si rien n'était encore officiel, aujourd'hui cela est chose faite puisque la chaîne américaine HBO a commandé la série. Pourquoi? Tout d'abord parce que Naughty Dog est fortement impliqué dans le projet: on retrouvera l'Argentin Gustavo Santaollala à la composition et Neil Druckmann, réalisateur de The Last of Us Part.
