Hassan Whiteside agrees to 1-year deal with Kings

The 31-year-old spent the 2019-20 season with the Portland Trail Blazers, where he posted averages of 15.5 points, 13.5 points and a league-leading 2.9 blocks over 67 regular-season games (61 starts). Len signed with Toronto as a free agent, so Whiteside figures to be a physical presence against the bigger centers in the National Basketball Association that might overpower Holmes or Marvin Bagley III when he plays center.

Whiteside, who is set to enter his ninth NBA season, was selected with the No. 33 overall pick by the Kings in the 2010 NBA Draft, spending the first 19 games of his career with Sacramento. Jusuf Nurkic, of course, is the Blazers' starting center.

Upon returning to the National Basketball Association for the 2014-15 campaign, the North Carolina native emerged as a consistent double-double threat with the Miami Heat.
