"We can confirm that during mandatory pre-race testing in the United Kingdom, sporting director Jonathan Wheatley tested positive for COVID-19".

Red Bull Formula 1 sporting director Jonathan Wheatley has tested positive for COVID-19 and will not attend this weekend's Bahrain Grand Prix.

Last month, Racing Point driver Lance Stroll missed the Eifel Grand Prix with an illness that was confirmed as coronavirus after he was tested when he returned home to Switzerland.

Wheatley tested positive for coronavirus while in the United Kingdom as part of the pre-event screening before he was due to travel to Bahrain and will subsequently not attend this weekend's race in Sakhir. According to Red Bull, the top man of the team is the only one who tested positive for the virus.
