The NBA All-Star game scheduled for February 12-14 in Indianapolis has been postponed because of the COVID-19 pandemic and rescheduled for 2024, the league said on Wednesday.
"We are excited about the opportunity to bring IN the very best All-Star experience IN 2024", said Pacers owner Herb Simon. The Pacers' release indicates that "plans for a revised NBA All-Star 2021 will be announced at a later date".
So, to make it up to the city, the National Basketball Association has granted Indianapolis the 2024 All-Star Game - which will mark the first time the game has gone to the city since 1985.

The 2021 All-Star Weekend had been scheduled to take place from February 12-14 at Bankers Life Fieldhouse in Indianapolis, home of the Indiana Pacers. Cleveland will play host in 2022 and Salt Lake City will do so in 2023.
The 2020-21 National Basketball Association regular season is scheduled to begin on December 22.
Indianapolis will now have to wait until 2024 to host the All-Star festivities, with the city's only previous hosting of the game taking place in 1985.
