  • The NBA said it tested 546 players as part of its initial return-to-market testing phase

Aldridge: The league is determined, as it made clear in its 134-page Health and Safety Protocols plan sent to teams last week, to get through the season, despite knowing that, as it wrote, "It is likely that some staff, players and other participants in the 2020-21 season nonetheless will test positive or contract COVID-19, particularly as the virus remains prevalent in particular team markets and surrounding communities".

Any players who tested positive in their team's market will be isolated until they are cleared under the rules established by the National Basketball Association and the NBPA in accordance with CDC guidance.

"During this pandemic, all this stuff is going to be different this season", Dallas All-Star Luka Doncic said Tuesday. The initial testing phase was November 24-30. It's going to be a lot of time together.

Reviving diplomacy, Biden seeks Iran talks after rejoining deal
The Iranian government suspected that the assassination was performed by Israel's Mossad intelligence agency. Israel and Saudi Arabia have repeatedly insisted Iran must not be allowed to acquire an atomic weapon.

Anyone with a confirmed positive test will also need to successfully complete a cardiac exam before being able to return to play. It's a possibility that some of the 48 positive players would not be cleared before the NBA's preseason schedule starts December 11.

Unfortunately, 48 players returned positive tests. The regular season begins on December 22. "Then, who the hell knows?"

The league had few issues keeping its "bubble" environment at Walt Disney World free of the novel coronavirus as it carried out the end of their delayed season earlier this year, but now faces numerous same challenges other North American leagues have playing in the COVID-19 era.
