Also in the lawsuit, Erika's single, "Exxpen$ive", and her claims of spending $40,000 a month on her appearance, were noted as reasons behind her and Thomas' alleged embezzlement of the victims' funds.

A new lawsuit claims that Erika Girardi and husband, Tom Girardi, are using a "sham" divorce to hide money embezzled from the families of plane crash victims, reported Page Six. The suit was filed Wednesday in U.S. District Court in Chicago by Edelson PC, an IL law firm that worked with Girardi representing the victims' surviving relatives.

The "Real Housewives of Beverly Hills" star and her lawyer hubby are being dragged into court by the law firm Edelson, which is suing him for allegedly embezzling money from a settlement meant to compensate the families of victims of the crash of Lion Air Flight 610. The Boeing 737 MAX crashed shortly after taking off from Jakarta on October 29, 2018, killing all 189 passengers and crew members. The plane was a 737 Max, the jet that Boeing subsequently grounded due to problems with its anti-stall software.

E! News has reached out to Jayne and Girardi's teams for comment.

Jayne, 49, announced her intention to file for a divorce from Girardi, 81, last month.

The amount Boeing paid to the families is confidential but "substantial", according to the suit.
