Reviving diplomacy, Biden seeks Iran talks after rejoining deal

In an interview with New York Times columnist Thomas Friedman, published on Wednesday, Biden pushed back against the proposal of keeping sanctions against Iran's oil sector to gain leverage over broader geopolitical issues with Tehran.

Parliament on Sunday demanded a halt to worldwide inspections of nuclear sites in the country, a step that could prove a fatal blow to the nuclear deal the Islamic republic agreed with world powers in 2015.

That does not seem likely, given Biden's and Blinken's open pledge to support and protect Israel without imposing any limitations, which is ironic because at the same time they have no qualm about using various pressure leverages vis-a-vis Iran to change its policies. "They're going to assume that we [the US] either collaborated with it or at a minimum were witting of the Israeli actions".
