Mahim Verma, who had been elected unopposed as the vice president last year, resigned from his position earlier this year. If two new IPL teams are to be added, then a mega auction will have to take place while a mini auction will happen in the other case.

There have been reports of BCCI wanting to expand the IPL to a 10-team event with the likes of Adani Group and Sanjeev Goenka's RPG showing interest in owing franchises.

The meeting will also see a discussion taking place on the future of current president Sourav Ganguly and secretary Jay Shah.

Appointments are also to be made for roles of Ombudsman and Ethics Officer, BCCI's representative to the ICC, Cricket Committee and Standing Committee and the Umpires' Committee. Apart from this, a technical committee is also to be formed.

The BCCI now wants to seek the state associations' viewpoints and said it wanted to have a "discussion" during the AGM on the board's "stand on the inclusion" of cricket at Los Angeles Olympics in 2028. These would be the Statutory Sub-Committee.

The AGM will also discuss the "election of two representatives" in the IPL Governing Council and induction/appointment of two members of the General Body and one representative of the Indian Cricketers' Association as per the amended BCCI constitution.

Discovery will launch its own streaming service on January 4
Discovery+ also has a first look deal with Magnolia Network, a joint venture with "Fixer Upper" stars Chip and Johanna Gaines. For European viewers, the service will be the streaming home of the Olympics, starting with next year's event in Tokyo.
