Etienne served as a Senior Advisor on the Biden-Harris Campaign. She's another Obama administration alum, having served as a regional political director for the White House office of political affairs.
Karine Jean Pierre, who was earlier Harris' chief of staff, will serve as a principal deputy press secretary to Biden.
Psaki tweeted Sunday that she's spoken with Jean-Pierre about "making the Biden-Harris agenda more accessible from the podium." .
The announcement comes as the Biden-Harris transition team has been assembling White House staff and moving forward with the transfer of power process as Biden and Harris prepare to take office on January 20, 2021.
