Game Of Thrones Prequel House Of The Dragon Begins Production Next Year

The official account of the HBO show has revealed the first look of the mythical dragons from the upcoming prequel called House of the Dragon.

Whether this new series will be as obsessed over as the original remains to be seen, but those dragons will definitely give this show an extra dose of epic.

Kilar said: "Principal photography starts on the next "Game of Thrones" series, 'House of the Dragon, ' in a few months".

HBO shared the concept art of some as-of-yet-unidentified dragons (below) on Twitter, with the caption, "Dragons are coming".

In October, it was announced that The Third Day actor Paddy Considine will play King Viserys Targaryen, who is "chosen by the lords of Westeros to succeed the Old King, Jaehaerys Targaryen, at the Great Council at Harrenhal". There's a chance this could be a dragon never before written about in the books, or it may be a reimagining of one that's been previously described.

Though the Emmy winning show ended after eight seasons in 2019, author George RR Martin's sprawling world continues to take on new forms on television. Martin co-created this series with Ryan Condal (Colony), while frequent Game of Thrones director Miguel Sapochnik will serve as co-showrunner with Condal and direct the pilot and more episodes later in the production's run.
