D'Wan Mathis began the season as Georgia's feel-good story, the quarterback of the present and perhaps the future.

The redshirt freshman entered the NCAA transfer portal Monday morning, AL.com has learned. He wanted to handle it the right way and have it come out [Monday] when he entered the portal.
