Seattle Seahawks’ Josh Gordon reinstated by the NFL

Carroll's frustration probably ended Thursday afternoon. His time with Seattle was cut short after Gordon was suspended by the National Football League for a substance abuse violation in December.

Gordon quickly became a rotational piece for the Seahawks last season and he was a major factor despite only catching seven passes, as six of those receptions resulted in Seattle first downs, including two late ones against the San Francisco 49ers in an overtime win.

Here's what we know about Gordon's latest return from suspension. It was Gordon's sixth suspension since the 2013 season and his fifth for some form of substance abuse, according to ESPN Stats & Information. The NFL's official release clarifies why Gordon's return can't be sooner.

Gordon will be allowed to attend team meetings, workouts and engage in individual workouts as well as strength and conditioning starting next week if he passes all COVID-related protocols, but he won't be able to practice, travel with the team or attend any games for the time being. He's played off and on since 2013, moving from Cleveland to New England and then to Seattle in 2019.

Russell Wilson will now have three talented receivers to target during the stretch run, with Gordon slotting in alongside Tyler Lockett and rising star DK Metcalf.

After Gordon's indefinite suspension was announced in 2019, Wilson had this to say: "I'm just praying for him, rooting for him and he'll overcome". I've seen and I've heard about that he's been really about the team. We've got so many great guys making plays right now.
