Jessica Campbell - the former actress best known for her role as Tammy Metzler in "Election" - died suddenly and unexpectedly last month. according to her family. Her cause of death has not yet been confirmed. She passed away in Portland.
The day of her death, Jessica, a naturopathic doctor, visited with her mother and aunt after work seeing patients.
The star died "suddenly and unexpectedly" on December 29, leaving behind her 10-year-old son, Oliver, Campbell's cousin Sarah Wessling confirmed on a GoFundMe page. She apparently went to the bathroom and never came out.
Her aunt then found Jessica collapsed on the floor after going to check on her.
Despite her health concerns, the family do not believe she was suffering from Covid-19. She won acclaim for her portrayal of Tammy, the rebellious lesbian student who jumped into the high school election race against the overly ambitious Tracy Flick (Witherspoon) and her brother, the popular jock Paul, played by Chris Klein.
The autopsy results are set to arrive soon.

Campbell also starred in two episodes of "Freaks and Geeks", and one of the show's directors and writers, Judd Apatow, donated $5,000 to the fundraiser.
The family told the site that Jessica has been cremated and 'they are planning a memorial'.
