Sandgren gets OK to fly to Australia despite COVID-19 result

World No. 50 Tennys Sandgren is said to not be contagious at this point.

Sandgren tweeted he tested "COVID positive" on Monday, after originally testing positive in late November, and was initially barred from the flight containing worldwide players out of Los Angeles.

The Australian Open will start at Melbourne Park on February 8 and run until February 21.

The Australian Open draw will be conducted on Thursday 4 February.

Players are due to touch down in Melbourne on chartered planes from seven cities, although the game's biggest stars, including Novak Djokovic, Rafael Nadal and Serena Williams, will arrive in Adelaide and quarantine there.
