Windy & much cooler on Thursday for Southern Colorado

  • Mostly sunny skies expected this week for Lake Tahoe

The strong winds will return again on Friday with some higher gusts.

Northwest winds of 30 to 40 miles per hour with gusts up to 60 miles per hour are possible.

Two more days of sunny skies are expected in the midstate before rain showers likely finish off the week, forecasters said.

WOODLAND PARK: Low: 21; High: 32. Peak gusts to 65 miles per hour will be possible.

TRI-LAKES: Low: 20s; High: 30s. Even during the relative lulls, wind gusts up to 45 miles per hour will be possible.

The National Weather Service (NWS) in Wichita has issued a fire weather watch effective Thursday morning through Thursday afternoon for the following counties in our area.

Extended Outlook: Friday will be a tad warmer, but still cold enough for a windy and chilly end to the week. A disturbance will bring snow to the mountains on Saturday, but will miss most of us. Little to no accumulation is expected.

There is a chance for a couple of snow showers Monday.
