Corey Kluber and the New York Yankees have agreed to a one-year, $11 million deal.

The California native played well for the Yankees after they signed him to a two-year pact before the 2019 season, hitting.336/.386/.536 with 36 home runs, 43 doubles, and 129 RBIs in 195 games.

Jon Morosi of MLB Network reports that the New York Yankees and DJ LeMahieu are "finalizing an agreement" that would keep the infielder in the Bronx.

Kluber, 34, spent the first nine years of his career with the Cleveland Indians before being traded to Texas, where he spent just one season and had it rough.

Kluber was the American League Cy Young Award victor with the Cleveland Indians in 2014, when he went 18-9 with a 2.44 ERA, and 2017, when he finished 18-4 with a major-league-best 2.25 ERA. He led the league in ERA (2.25) in 2017 when he beat out Red Sox ace Chris Sale for the Cy Young.

While with Texas, Kluber pitched a grand total of one inning before heading to the IL with a torn teres major muscle.

The Rangers declined an $18 million team option to retain Kluber in 2021, paying him a $1 million buyout.

Injuries have limited Kluber's performance in recent years.
