She said she "did not run over any cats" and Tesla is "not to be blamed", several news outlets reported.

"I do know that there's simply larger issues to fret about on this planet proper now however anyone's gotta let Elon Musk know that the Tesla is a secret cat killer and it's an issue that we've actually received to fix", the Candy Magnolias star mentioned of the corporate CEO in a deleted social media video revealed by TMZ.

Instead, the mom of 2 is pointing the finger at Elon Musks' super quiet but economically resourceful electric auto, the Tesla.

The 29-year-old actress and singer revealed her daughter's pet had been run over by an electric vehicle and said other animals had met the same fate. In a video on Instagram, Spears stated that the American millionaire's electric vehicle and clean energy company owed her a "couple" of new pet cats.

She then wrote "RIP Turkey" on a video that includes her daughter Ivey, 2.

As you'd expect, the internet collectively lost their minds over the video, calling Jamie-Lynn a "serial cat killer", prompting her to clear the whole thing up on her Instagram Story. The toddler says, "Turkey went to Jesus".

Spears was on point with respect to Tesla's low noise emission.

In her original post, Spears proposed that, "since the Tesla is so quiet", the cars could make a noise to alert cats of their presence, though she also noted that the deaths could be down to user error.

But the next day, she hopped back on Instagram to dispel these theories.

However, after the clip hit headlines, Spears has shared an update in which she said reports were "misleading" and that she wanted to "clarify" things.

Spears pumped the brakes on allegations that she was actually the cat killer when users began urging her to take steps such as using the backup cameras, checking the surrounding areas of the auto before getting in and making noise before driving the Tesla, to ensure that she does not hit her own cats.
