  • Manchester City thump Crystal Palace to move up to second

Manchester City climbed to second in the English Premier League table with a comfortable 4-0 win over Crystal Palace on Sunday night.

Former Nigeria global player and manager, Sunday Oliseh has heaped praise on Pep Guardiola's Man City after a blistering performance in their 4-0 victory against Eberechi Eze's Crystal Palace.

Aside from his brace, John Stones has enjoyed an excellent renaissance this season alongside summer signing Dias - the pair conceding just one goal in the 10 games they have started together this season - and Guardiola was delighted for the man who has been affectionately dubbed "The Barnsley Beckenbauer". They are also through to the Carabao Cup final, the FA Cup fourth round and the last 16 of the Champions League.

Asked to describe the mood among the squad, Stones, who scored twice against the Eagles, said: 'I think quietly confident - but no one gets ahead of themselves, which is a great quality to have.

"In previous seasons where we have won the league we have never looked further than the next game and that's all we can affect and all we can prepare for".

Stones, who scored two of the four goals against Palace, has been outstanding in City's recent run of form.

Apple Plans Podcasting Subscription Service in Threat to Spotify
This could take many forms, and while one report suggested Apple TV+ tie-in podcasts , that's likely just the tip of the iceberg. Considering the branding of other Apple services, a premium podcast service may be known as 'Apple Podcasts+' when it launches.

After a poor start to the campaign, City are beginning to look like the side that won consecutive titles before Liverpool knocked them emphatically off their perch last season. "I need to contribute goals and bring that aspect to my game", the club's official website quoted Stones as saying.

De Bruyne created a game-high three chances, including the assist for Stones' opener - the Belgium playmaker's 100th in all competitions for City, with the 29-year-old creating 32 more goals than any other Premier League player since making his debut for the club in 2015.

"I've put a lot of pressure on myself, maybe in the wrong way sometimes, to get on the scoresheet but I've kept chipping away and kept chipping away in training, trying to improve and being in the right areas".

John Stones "deserves the best", according to Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola.

After taking time to warm up, City began to threaten midway through the first half as Kevin De Bruyne had a curling effort deflected wide.

Ilkay Gundogan and Raheem Sterling also hit fine goals as City overpowered a Palace side missing chief inspiration Wilfried Zaha at the Etihad Stadium. I knew him when he played at Borussia Dortmund with [Jurgen] Klopp that when he plays close to the box he has a sense of goal. We have got a massive month in February.
