Google Pay Redesign Focuses on Organizing, Protecting Your Money

It's important that your money and private information are safe and in your control.

Under the banking collaborations, Google will primarily provide the front-end experience and insight via the Pay app while the banks provide the financial backing, FDIC insurance and transactional infrastructure. Foreign payment apps like Google Pay and Whatsapp Pay would pose as great competitors but would still have to go the extra mile to win the Kenyan market. Google Pay will need to do more in terms of development to retain its clients as both apps run on the same protocol. Instead of cards, your Google Pay account will be broken up into three groups: People, Groups, and Businesses.
