Ireland Squad For Six Nations Announced

Munster's Craig Casey and Ulster's Tom O'Toole are the only two uncapped players selected in Ireland's Six Nations squad.

Munster scrum-half Casey, a Grand Slam victor with Ireland Under-20s in 2019, received his first senior call-up, while Ulster prop O'Toole was named in his country's squad at the start of the 2020 Championship but did not feature.

Ireland finished third in the staggered 2020 Six Nations with three victories in five matches.

"Tadhg (Furlong) hasn't played in quite a while but he is ready to join the group", Farrell said in an Irish Rugby Football Union statement. The experienced front row is thought to be nearing a return after a torrid time with calf, back, and hamstring issues.

Iain Henderson has been named despite sustaining a knee injury against Scotland in November while Sexton, James Lowe and Peter O'Mahony have been included despite carrying knocks. It's unclear whether Stockdale will recover to return to the fold later in the championship.

Farrell's men play Italy in Rome on Saturday 27 February, face a trip to Scotland on Sunday 14 March, then finish their campaign by welcoming England to Dublin on Saturday 20 March.
