An Amazon delivery driver has found a baby abandoned on the side of the road after a suspected vehicle jacking.
The suspect ended up dropping the baby off on the side of a road and ditching the vehicle nearby before fleeing the scene.
"I could not imagine somebody would do that and I could also not imagine that nothing happened to the baby because this is a really busy street in the mornings", said neighbor Dante Garcia, who lives across the street.
"I asked [the neighbor] if the baby belongs to them, they said, 'What, are you kidding me?'" said Flores.
Juan Carlos Flores told KTRK and ABC News that he was on his typical route in Houston when he spotted the baby in a vehicle seat.
The homeowner told the news station that he immediately took the vehicle seat indoors and called police.
"How could someone have a heart to leave the child on the side of the road?"
Flores returned to his delivery route when he saw police searching for the baby in the neighborhood. He led the officers back to the house where the neighbor was caring for the child.
The Houston Police Department told KTRK that the baby's mother had left the child in her vehicle as she checked that her apartment was locked and when she returned, the auto was gone, along with the infant.
According to Houston police, home surveillance video captured a man leaving the baby along the street after stealing a auto.
Just minutes later, the baby was reunited with its mum.
