The premier said he would announce more details next week, but he said the Montreal region was likely to be kept under a higher tier of restrictions than other areas of the province.

Due to the state of cases and hospitalizations in Montreal, the premier says relaxing measures in Quebec's most populous city is not yet an option. Legault hailed the downward trend as good news and also an argument that current measures, such as the 8 p.m. curfew, are effective and should not be changed. Looking particularly to the issues being cause by the spread of the United Kingdom variant of the virus, Arruda and Legault both warned of the importance of vigilance and care going forward.

Quebec reported 1,166 new cases of COVID-19 and 57 more deaths attributed to the novel coronavirus on Tuesday, including four that occurred in the past 24 hours.

Legault said that the number of daily COVID-19 cases in Quebec, decreasing steadily over the past week, means that the curfew and lockdown in Quebec are working.

Of those patients, 219 were in intensive care, an increase of three.

So, as you might imagine, a 9-0 first-quarter deficit against the Bills wasn't anything the Chiefs were going to stress out about. The Bills cut the lead to 21-12 with a 20-yard Bass field goal with 11 seconds remaining in the half.

The city's positivity rate for COVID-19 stands at about 8.8 per cent as of Friday -- a decrease from the week before -- and its reproduction rate is now under one, meaning each person who catches the virus is transmitting it to fewer than one other person. The situation remains particularly challenging in the Greater Montreal area, which accounts for 1,040 of the 1,324 people in hospital. To date, 238,100 doses have been received.

Dube said the province passed the milestone of vaccinating 225,000 people - about two weeks ahead of schedule - but that the ongoing delay in shipments from manufacturer Pfizer would inevitably cause slowdowns.

"It has to be said there are still active cases in every region of Quebec, without exceptions", Legault said.

Legault also warned Quebecers that the province should remain cautious due to new variants of COVID-19 that have emerged in Ontario, urging Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau to take action on worldwide flights to Canada.
