Wang condemned the vote as interference in China's domestic affairs and said the Chinese government has "lodged stern representations" with the Canadian side.
Uighurs in Australia are now calling on the government to adopt the same stance - saying the description truly recognises the hardship experienced by their people.
"Had the Conservatives made a decision to say that these were crimes against humanity, I absolutely would have voted for it".
Rights groups believe that China has detained up to a million Uighurs and used them as forced labor over the past few years in what the state defines as "reeducation camps". Increasing people's sense of gains, happiness and security is the fundamental pursuit of human rights as well as the ultimate goal of national governance, " Wang said.
The lower house of Canada's Parliament voted on Monday to pass an opposition motion declaring that China's treatment of Uighurs and other Turkic Muslims in Xinjiang meets the definition of genocide set out in the 1948 UN Genocide Convention.
Speaking ahead of the vote, opposition leader Erin O'Toole said the move was necessary to send a "clear and unequivocal signal that we will stand up for human rights and the dignity of human rights, even if it means sacrificing some economic opportunity".
"As someone who has practised worldwide law, has done global litigation, it was quite obvious to me that the facts that have emerged are unconscionable, they're egregious, but they do not fit the precise definition of a genocide", said Ehassi.
"Moving forward multilaterally will be the best way to demonstrate the solidarity of Western democracies. that are extremely concerned and dismayed by reports of what's going on in Xinjiang", Trudeau said on Friday after speaking to fellow G7 leaders. The Xinjiang people are living safe and happy lives, he said.
"The complicating factor for Australia is the deep hole that our bilateral relationship with Beijing is in at the moment", he said.

Facebook is lifting its Australian news ban following negotiation
The UK is only second country in the world to gain Facebook News after it launched the service in the United States a year ago . Google had also prepared for a showdown even threatening to leave Australia altogether, but it relented at the eleventh hour.
"This is a non-partisan issue, this is a humanitarian issue, this is an issue of genocide, of crimes against humanity", said Liberal MP Sameer Zuberi at the time. "The Liberals, I think, got backed into a corner here where on the one hand they can't deny the extreme violence happening in Xinjiang, but I think they're trying to navigate the complicated relationship, not only trade relationship but also the detention of Michael Kovrig and Michael Spavor who are still in Chinese prison".
In December, the International Criminal Court rejected an application from Uighurs in exile to investigate China for alleged genocide and crimes against humanity.
"We are really at a point where if governments find reasons not to act on China's very serious human rights abuses, we might be seeing worse abuses in the near future", said Wong.
Yet, Japanese businesses are reportedly taking action in response to human rights violations in Xinjiang.
NDP foreign affairs critic Heather McPherson, who voted in favour of the motion, told Power Play that cabinet's non-appearance was reflective of the government's overall approach to China.
"It is high time Australia joined with, Canada and the United States in declaring China's treatment of Uighurs as genocide", he told SBS News.
"The Australian government is falling out of step with some of our closest allies on the matter of the [Chinese Communist Party's] persecution of the Uighurs".
Labor Senator and the co-chair of the Inter-Parliamentary Alliance on China, Kimberley Kitching, said the position sent a "strong message the worldwide community can no longer ignore the reality of what is happening".
Beijing has hit back at accusations it has engaged in genocide in Xinjiang - labelling this "fabricated out of ignorance and prejudice".
