  • Coronavirus l’UE bloque l’exportation de vaccins Astra Zeneca depuis l’Italie 250.000 doses concernées

L'Italie, avec le feu vert de Bruxelles, est le premier pays européen à bloquer l'exportation de vaccins produits sur le continent. Il s'agit de 250.000 doses produites par AstraZeneca à Anagni, dans le Latium, qui devaient être exportées en Australie.

L'argument n'avait pas convaincu Bruxelles, qui rappelait que trois autres usines étaient mentionnées dans le contrat signé avec l'Union européenne (UE).

Le mécanisme de surveillance des exportations avait été mis sur pied à la hâte fin janvier, en plein bras de fer de la Commission européenne et d'AstraZeneca, firme pharmaceutique accusée de favoriser le Royaume-Uni dans ses livraisons de vaccins, au détriment du marché européen.

Le dispositif prévoit que les États exercent eux-mêmes ce contrôle par le biais de leurs douanes nationales en examinant les demandes d'autorisation d'exportation soumises par les laboratoires, avant de solliciter l'aval de la Commission.
