Toronto-raised Adams has posted a series of tweets praising Meghan and admonishing what he calls "the endless racist, slanderous, clickbaiting vitriol spewed in her direction from all manner of media across the United Kingdom and the world".

The intense reaction from Patrick J. Adams, who played Mike Ross on Suits, comes after The Times published an article that claims to have three of Meghan Markle's former staff at Kensington Palace coming forward with accusations that the actress made their life "unbearable". It said an official complaint was made by Jason Knauf, then the communications secretary to Meghan and her husband, Prince Harry. The Palace has now announced an investigation into the allegations.

The 39-year-old actor wrote: "Meghan Markle and I spent the better part of a decade working together on Suits. My friend Meghan is way out of your league".
