Series of earthquakes rattle Southern California, including 4.0 quake near Lennox

That quake was recorded at 4:44 a.m. PT (7:44 a.m. ET) and was 19.9 km deep. That is a little deeper than most Southern California quakes and minimized the amount of shaking felt at the surface.

The U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) says the epicenter was just east of the Los Angeles International Airport, along Century Boulevard on the south side of Hollywood Park.

The 4.0 temblor was followed by several smaller quakes in the Inglewood and Lennox area.
