On Monday, the Metropolitan Police said they were informed by Essex Police that the body of a man was found in a pond in the woodland.

It was here that Mr Okorogheye was last seen on CCTV in the early hours of 23 March, walking towards Epping Forest.

Police divers have been brought in to assist in the search of a missing student who was last seen nearly two weeks ago. Helpless, and also, sorry to use this word, but I feel useless.

Police say the body has not yet been identified but that Mr Okorogheye's family have been told of the development and they are being supported by specialist officers.

In the CCTV footage shows, he was wearing all black with a a black satchel bag sporting a white Adidas logo. A confirmed sighting of him in Loughton, Essex, has police searching Epping Forest.

Police divers had previously been seen searching the forest.

He was captured on CCTV walking alone on Smarts Lane, Loughton, towards Epping Forest at 12.39am on Tuesday March 23.

The Metropolitan Police have said previously that his mobile phone had not been used since his disappearance.

She also issued a message to her son, telling him: 'Everybody misses you. We want you home.
