"Should Iran be willing to return to compliance with the limitations set by the JCPOA, the United States should be willing to rejoin the deal and provide the sanctions relief required under the agreement", the lawmakers said. Suspicions have instead fallen on Israel, especially after several Israeli media outlets first reported Sunday that an Israeli attack and ensuing explosion took entire sections of the nuclear site offline.

Tuesday's announcement came as Iranian and American officials were set to continue indirect talks in Vienna on reviving the 2015 deal, formally known as the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA).

On Friday, the United Nations nuclear watchdog noted a new breach by Iran of the nuclear deal with world powers at the same time talks were going on to renew the agreement, according to a report shown to Reuters.

Those talks in Austria's capital are set to resume Wednesday, with the USA meeting European parties still in the nuclear deal, while Iran meets all the remaining parties, including Russian Federation and China.

The White House has denied America's involvement in the incident.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has come out strongly against the deal, saying it gives Iran a legal way to acquire a nuclear weapon. "The United States and Iran mustn't let this attack derail the progress being made in Vienna". Highly enriched uranium has a concentration of 20% or more and is used in research reactors.

White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki said the US takes seriously Iran's "provocative announcement", saying it "calls into question Iran's seriousness with regard to the nuclear talks and underscores the imperative of returning to mutual compliance" with the deal.

Natanz has been at the heart of those restrictions.

"It looks like Israel is really trying to send a pretty clear message that not only are they unsatisfied with the way things are going from a diplomatic point of view, but also that they are willing to take steps covertly to try to make diplomacy more hard", Henry Rome, a senior analyst at Eurasia Group, told PBS.

Abbas Araqchi, the Iranian deputy foreign minister, told Press TV that Iran will begin 60% uranium enrichment starting tomorrow. But White House press secretary Jen Psaki said Monday the US was "not involved in any manner".

"Our focus is of course on the diplomatic path forward. All sanctions should be lifted, we verify and then we go back to full compliance if we are satisfied with the verification process". "We will not allow this act of sabotage to affect the nuclear talks".

Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif appreciated Pakistan's positive role in promoting regional stability.

"This is a regime that has violated the nuclear agreement time and time again, threatens genocide against Israel, poses an existential threat to the Gulf States, and blatantly puts in place a spy/terror network across Europe", he noted of Iran. But Sunday's attack, which damaged Iran's centrifuges, and the subsequent move to ramp up uranium enrichment could complicate the talks.

President Biden is now contemplating the renegotiation of a nuclear deal with Iran and ending economic sanctions on the country which Pompeo said is just plain "bad" for security and Middle Eastern entities. The ship was said to be a floating base for Iranian forces engaged in Yemen's war.

That said, intelligence officials briefed on the attack told The New York Times that it dealt a major blow to Iran's ability to enrich uranium and could cause a monthslong delay before production is restored at Natanz.

Zarif separately renewed his earlier warning to Israel over the sabotage, saying that if Iran determines its archenemy was behind it, "then Israel will get its response and will see what a stupid thing it has done".
