  • Rep. Jim Jordan yells at Dr. Fauci during heated exchange

A tense back-and-forth Thursday between Republican Rep. Jim Jordan (Ohio) and chief medical adviser to the president, Dr. Anthony Fauci, ended with Democratic Rep. Maxine Waters (Calif.) jumping in and telling Jordan to "shut your mouth".

"We had 15 days of "slow the spread" turn into one year of lost liberty", Jordan said. 'What metrics, what measures, what has to happen before Americans get their freedoms back?'

'You're indicating liberty and freedom.

Things did not calm down until Clyburn stated, "I think Mr. Jordan knows me very well, and he knows full well that we're going to handle this".

"You don't think Americans' liberties have been threatened in the a year ago, Dr. Fauci?"

In an exchange that recalls the irresistible force paradox that asks what happens when an unstoppable force meets an immovable object, Rep. Jordan repeatedly hectored Dr. Fauci over when citizens' rights can fully be restored now that vaccinations are well underway and herd immunity seems around the corner. "You need to respect the chair and shut your mouth". It came after she opened her testimony by saying:' Dr. Fauci, I love you.

Fauci was also chided by Reps. Steve Scalise as he testified alongside Centers for Disease Control and Prevention Director Rochelle Walensky.

Scalise held up pictures of packed border facilities and accused the USA government of operating with a double standard. "They can. That's a CDC recommendation for vaccinated people", Fauci said. 'Kids packed in crowded, poorly ventilated cells six inches, not six feet, apart for 20 hour a day or more - but we can't open schools for in-person learning?' But Fauci refused to answer with any sort of specificity.

'No doubt it's a very hard situation at the border, ' Fauci told Scalise.

Lack of exercise linked to more severe Covid-19 symptoms, death
The researchers took account of potentially influential factors, such as race, age, and underlying medical conditions. According to reports, lazy people are at a higher chance of dying if they report being COVID-19 positive.

"And I'm asking the questions", Jordan said as he cut Fauci off.

'Guess what! The press isn't allowed in those facilities, ' Jordan said.

With only 20 percent of the US population fully vaccinated against the coronavirus, many USA public health experts have still remained cautious in calling for any hasty return to normal as the US vaccination rate continues to slowly climb.

'You are, that is exactly what you're doing, ' Fauci charged.

"With a level of animation rarely seen by Dr. Fauci, he insisted". "When do Americans get their first amendment liberties back?" "Tell me the number".

"You're not a doctor, Mr. Clyburn", Jordan shouted back, noting that the American people wanted to hear from Fauci on the issue, not the SC congressman.

"That would be that the number of infections per day are well below 10,000 per day", Fauci said.

The committee chair, Rep. Jim Clyburn of SC, then interjected with, "When 90% of the members of Congress get vaccinated", seemingly a reference to Republican lawmakers being hesitant to get shots.
