As Muslims around the world are celebrating the Eid al-Fitr holiday, marking the end of the holy month of Ramadan, Egyptian authorities are anxious that this week's festivities could lead to a surge in cases as the world's most populous Arab nation experiences a third Covid-19 wave. Eid al-Fitr, called Uraza Bayram in Russian Federation, is a public holiday in the country's Muslim-majority republics.

"The prime minister will address the nation at 7:15pm on the occasion of Eid-ul Fitr", said her Press Secretary Ihsanul Karim on Wednesday, reports UNB. But he said, "This year, we have observed a Ramadan whereby our normal communal practices of breaking of the fast and nightly prayers at mosques have been curtailed".
