Tropical storm warning issued for northern Gulf Coast

The National Hurricane Center (NHC) designated invest 92-L as Potential Tropical Cyclone 3 this afternoon as it still remains too disorganized to get a name. The warning also includes Lake Pontchartrain, Lake Maurepas, and Metropolitan New Orleans to the west.

3 is expected to develop through tomorrow, eventually becoming Tropical Storm Claudette before making landfall in the northern Gulf over the weekend.

It has a 90% chance of developing within the next 48 hours, and the chances remain the same through the next five days.
