A Florida Condo Collapsed Overnight: 'It Felt Like an Earthquake'

A search and rescue mission is underway in Surfside to find any survivors that might be trapped in the rubble of the collapsed building.

A building has partially collapsed in Miami early in the morning on June 24, 2021, and has prompted Miami-Dade Fire Rescue to send 80 units to respond to the scene, according to a tweet from Miami-Dade Fire Rescue.

In a separate news release, it said more than 80 rescue units were at the location, including Technical Rescue Teams, along with assistance from municipal fire departments.

Miami-Dade County Mayor Daniella Levine Cava took to Twitter to express her gratitude for the first responders on scene of "this horrific tragedy". "The entire back side of the building has collapsed".
